Hello - I've seen a few 'coat hook' style hidden cameras for sale at various web stores, and some reviews - elsewhere, obviously - have stated that the motion detection function works only once. Meaning that when set to motion detection, the camera will sit in standby until it detects motion, take a short video and then power down. I require a motion detection capable camera that will record whenever there is motion, memory store and battery life allowing - not simply snap a quick video if someone passes by before powering down. Do you know if this coat hook camera will suffice? Thank you,
Answer:   The reviews of the coat hook camera are written by people who really don't know what sort of device they have just purchased.   The unit has true motion detection and will record short 2 minute long snippets of video whenever there is motion. With that said there are two considerations that many buyers don't think about: 1.     The product is very inexpensive and has a corresponding defect rate. Note: we simply replace them when needed. 2.      The battery life of the product is only about 1.5 hours. This is the same regardless of whether the motion detection is on or not, since the motion detection method used by this device uses as much power as the video itself. Many people buy this item expecting it to last for days in "motion detection mode"… but it doesn't. We have lots of long battery life cameras but they are generally larger in size.   The product is what it is and does what it does. I have some very satisfied customers who have purchased this item for a specific purpose and I have some people who realize it's not what they need and return it or exchange it.   If after reading this you decide you need something different let me know and I'll offer you some recommendations.
