The biometric fingerprint lock operates on 4 AA batteries (not included). Long life batteries will last approximately 1 year under normal conditions (5000 cycles with 1 set of long life batteries under test conditions). This unit has a low battery indicator to let you know when to change the batteries. None of the saved fingerprints or settings will be lost during battery replacements. In case of emergencies, we have provided 3 overriding keys that let you open the lock like a tradition deadbolt.
The fingerprint scan time is less than 1 second and can recognize and match a stored fingerprint in 2 seconds or less.
The unit is rated to work in a temperature range from 0-131 degrees Fahrenheit and a humidity range of 0-99 percent. The lock measures 6 x 3 and three-eight x 1 and three-quarter inches.
