Can you confirm if this product works with VOIP based phone services such as from Verizon?
Answer:

Are you using a standard phone (like you might buy at Radio Shack) which is simply plugged into a black box supplied by Verizon? If so then the answer is yes.

For example, I have Vonage VOIP and this product works just fine with it.

Clarification:

I'm using a Uniden cordless phone that has a base and 5 handsets. In this case, do I connect the device to the base? Can you confirm if that will work?

That should work. I have a Uniden with 2 handsets.
Yes, you connect the MTR to the base unit. It will record all the call regardless of which handset is used.
