Selecting a GPS Tracker

At Security & Self Defense Store we sell many kinds of GPS trackers. To find the right kind for you its often best to try to narrow our search with a few questions and considerations.

Some GPS trackers require that you sign up for  a service plan but others allow you to set up your own tracking with a SIM card that you supply. The service plans would be a better choice if you are looking for something simple. If you are technically adept then you might want to try the SIM card technique. Here’s a low-cost GPS tracker that lets you set up using your own SIM card:

GPS Tracking Service Plans:

Tracking data is received by "pinging" the device at pre-set intervals. Live tracking would require that you ping very frequently. You could enroll in a plan and select the shortest interval available. Most plans increase in cost as you increase the frequency of the data updates.

Battery operated trackers can last from 10 to 30 days. They are great for placing in a glove compartment or trunk and tracking a vehicle. Other units can be installed under the dash board and integrated into the vehicle's basttery power. These are good for longer term tracking.

With these questions in mind what sort would suit your needs best?
