The best thing to make a dog stop in his tracks is a Colt 45. I would not rely on this device in a life threatening situation with an attack dog for example.
These devices make a high pitched sound that dogs find extremely unpleasant. The idea being that the dogs will go elsewhere.
I just had a guy try them on a pitbull and was not happy with the results. He said the sound was obviously irritating to the dog but the pitbull just got angry.
So I would say it depends on the type of dog.
The ideal purpose for this item is to protect you when jogging, walking, going door to door, etc. and need to drive away nuisance dogs. It works great for its intended purpose.

Answer: The reviews of the coat hook camera are written by people who really don't know what sort of device they have just purchased. The unit has true motion detection and will record short 2 minute long snippets of video whenever there is motion. With that said there are two considerations that many buyers don't think about: 1. The product is very inexpensive and has a corresponding defect rate. Note: we simply replace them when needed. 2. The battery life of the product is only about 1.5 hours. This is the same regardless of whether the motion detection is on or not, since the motion detection method used by this device uses as much power as the video itself. Many people buy this item expecting it to last for days in "motion detection mode"… but it doesn't. We have lots of long battery life cameras but they are generally larger in size. The product is what it is and does what it does. I have some very satisfied customers who have purchased this item for a specific purpose and I have some people who realize it's not what they need and return it or exchange it. If after reading this you decide you need something different let me know and I'll offer you some recommendations. | |

I wanted to let you know that we will be returning all of the flash drives. We noticed that the motion sensor only activates for 1 hour after set up. Yes, we have lots of wifi web cameras. They will not be visible on your network unless you were to lof into the router itself and check the connected devices. They would show up in the routers DHCP table.
But if you don't know what you're looking at you wouldn't know and almost no one ever logs on to the router to look there.
So, its possible... but highly unlikely.
